Sta.Demonia Tattoo Stockholm at Medelhavsmuseet!

/StaDemonia Tattoo Stockholm 2026.02.02/

Welcome to a queer tattoo evening and club Habibti at the Medelhavsmuseet on 20/2 at 7 pm, in connection with the exhibition Tattoo – stories in ink from the Mediterranean! Get tattooed by Jazz E, listen to conversations with Sara Swanson and Helena Meyer about the project Queer Tattoo History / Stories and tell us about your queer tattoo in Butcher Queen’s confession booth! A tattoo can be queer because it shows an LGBTQI+ symbol, a reference to queer culture or because it strengthens you in your queerness, or for some other reason. Do you have a tattoo that you want to tell about? And that we can save in a future queer tattoo archive? Your story can be anonymous or not, short or long. We are happy to record it with audio, but you will also be able to write your story on paper.

More information about admission and the full program on the Medelhavsmuseet website.

Sara Swanson opened StaDemonia Tattoo Barcelona in 2005, together with master Soledad Aznar Rodriguez in Barcelona, and since 2017 they are located in Stockholm. Sara also works with the Queer Tattooing project where she has arranged lectures and public discussions about art and tattooing and how we can create safer and more pleasurable places for ourselves and others, and has written the book Queer Tattoo History / Histories.

Sara Swanson’s book Queer Tattoo History / Stories is now available at StaDemoniaTattoo.Bigcartel for 430 SEK (larger online bookstores about 580 SEK), at StaDemonia Tattoo Stockholm and at Bagarmossen’s library (and you know that it is often possible to interlibrary loan a book and have it sent to your local library?)
