Sara Swanson will screen her film Queer Tattoo History / Stories at Cinema Queer on Saturday 4/10 at 5:30 PM (in Swedish, no subtitles). The film is followed by a conversation with Pia Laskar and Sara Swanson about searching for one’s history and about queer archives.
In 2005, Sara Swanson founded StaDemonia Tattoo Stockholm together with her partner and tattoo master Soledad Aznar Rodriguez. It quickly became a hub in Stockholm’s queer tattoo world. Since the start, Sara has been researching around queer tattoo history for several years and now we present the result! Queer Tattoo History / Stories is a short documentary, a memoir about LGBTQI+ people’s experiences from tattooing. Sara has collected memories from tattooing through interviews with LGBTQI+ people who got tattoos in the 1970s and 80s.
