Book release + Finissage: Queer Tattoo History / Stories 15/2!

Welcome to see the exhibition Queer Tattoo History / Stories. 18/1-15/2 Thursday-Saturday at 13-19 hs at the newly opened Southside Gallery in Högdalen (Högdalsgången 43 opposite the Coop). And especially welcome to the finissage and celebration of the book that now exists in this world, 15/2 at 19-24! Also, to celebrate again that Soledad Aznar Rodriguez´ and Sara Swanson’s (and now so many others’) StaDemonia Tattoo Stockholm turns 20! You find our apprentice and genius Rolf Flor Butcher Queen in the bar, Yolanda Bohm and Alex Cfourpo play records and we are happy that Eido Al Fakir sings for us on stage! Don’t miss out, help to spread, come by yourself or with friends!
Sara Swanson from StaDemonia Tattoo Stockholm has interviewed hbtqi+ people who got tattoos during the 70s and 80s and photographer Del laGrace Volcano has portrayed the storytellers.
Queer Tattoo History / Stories is an ongoing art project, memory work and research, fragments collect for ourselves and our siblings, which tells about times when tattooing and queerness were taboo, shamed and/or forbidden AND an action filled with resistance and desire.

Availability is unfortunately bad. A longer flight of stairs down to the venue and this time we don’t have access to a lift. For questions write to sara@stademonia.com!
